Expedition training in the Monte Rosa massif. Learn different ice, snow and rock techniques and experience some of the most beautiful four-thousand-meter peaks in the Alps. The way is the goal. For all who dream of the expedition world.
The Monte Rosa Massif, with its impressive four-thousand-meter peaks, is ideal for our expedition training. From the sleepy village of Alagna on the Italian side, we get close to the glacier by cable car. We have 5 days available to learn everything you might need during an expedition. And along the way we collect up to 8 four-thousand-meter peaks!
Our experienced mountain guides teach you how to walk in rope teams, basic rope techniques, climbing techniques, walking and climbing in ice, snow and firn, easy rock climbs up to the III. difficulty level as well as crevasse rescue and self-restraint techniques. They also show you how to put up your tent in snow and ice, how to melt snow efficiently and how to cook at high altitude. You will familiarize yourself with crampons, ice axes, ropes and gas stoves and learn how to acclimatize properly. Ready for high altitude we will then attempt to reach the highest mountain hut in Europe – the Capanna Margherita on the 4554m high “Signalkuppe”.
You benefit from the expedition experience of our mountain guides. They know exactly what is important.
We will spend two nights in comfortable beds at serviced cabins and two nights in a tent on the glacier. This course is ideal for people who either want to prepare for their first expedition or just want to try out whether they are suitable for an expedition. We offer the course on two fixed dates with 4 to 6 members but are also happy to run the course as a private package at your individual desired date. The rental equipment is of course included.
