On Hokkaido, we put together an individually, very appealing program for connoisseurs.
You can think of Japan whatever you want. All those little curiosities everyone associates with the Japanese, like sushi or the cherry blossoms, just to name a few. There is probably no other country where traditions and modernity collide like here. And there is probably no other place in the world where those heavy snow-laden low-pressure-fronts hit a mountain range, like here on Hokkaido. You may imagine what the result looks like – up to 15 m snow per year. Hokkaido’s powder is legendary. Here you can experience the cliché, everyone starts to imagine when thinking about skiing in Japan – meters of powder falling in sparse, deciduous forests situated at the mountainside of volcanoes with the sea sparkling at the horizon. Truly amazing. But despite this fairytale-like image, you have to bear in mind that this snow does not fall out of blue skies. The weather is a big topic on Hokkaido.
Just recently, a new Heliski-territory, situated right at a volcanic mountain range has opened up, supported by a modern Eurocopter. We arranged this trip in order to have at least one full day with a lot of vertical meters on the helicopter and two spectacular days with the snowcat at some coastal spots. The remaining days will be spent at some of the best freeride areas with lift-support in order to experience the Japanese powder as much as possible. Of course, all of these adventures will be guided by one of our Austrian mountain guides. The program is as diverse as the country itself – we will experience hot thermal springs, traditional fish-dinners at the sea, a tour with the snowmobile and accommodations ranging from traditional and rustic to high-end japaneses resort-style luxury. It was our objective to create a travel, which cannot be outperformed in terms of originality, experiential value and variety. We offer a maximum number of 9 participants the chance to come with us on this journey. Registration now open. First come, first serve.
