Only a few kilometers away from the polar circle, we give you the opportunity to discover one of the most spectacular Heliski areas of Iceland: Tröllaskagi. This peninsula, which is named after the trolls that are said to dwell here, is yet largely undiscovered by commercial Heliskiing. The terrain is excellent for Heliskiing and offers something for all preferences. Connoisseurs will enjoy “summit to sea” runs with up to 1.500 m altitude difference – from the breathtaking view of the summit down to the icy coast of the arctic ocean.
And not just once but again and again and again. Addiction potential is guaranteed. But better be prepared: the conditions in the cold north vary drastically. From fresh powder to stable compressed firn everything is possible – expect the unexpected!
The Heliskiing area of Tröllaskagi is particularly attractive from the end of March until mid of June. A perfect time to safe our skis from the inevitable summer months in the cellar and experience a true highlight at the end of the skiing season. In addition, this period still provides the opportunity to experience the impressive northern lights (if we are lucky and if we do not upset the islands spirits).
The best place to watch them is probably the old Viking port: a new and (very untypical) comfortable hotel equipped with thermal whirlpools and saunas to enjoy the peace and quietness in the evenings. So, come and enjoy Heliskiing with the probably most friendly Vikings you will ever meet. An experience with fun, action and excitement far up in the north!
