Really passionate ski tourers are not frightened off by a lengthy journey?

Granted, the way to Kyrgyzstan is further than from Munich to the end of the Oetztal valley. Even though it can take just as long during the Easter holidays. Nevertheless, a truly unique and fascinating experience speaks in favor of the Tien Shan Mountains in Kyrgyzstan. A six-day ski tour in a totally secluded region with pristine nature, accommodation in yurts or huts and meals cooked by locals. In the evening you can enjoy the sauna and a cozy get-together at the romantic campfire, while during the day we rock the Kyrgyz powder! The Tien Shan Mountains have long been known for outstanding heli-skiing. Now we are discovering these fantastic mountains as new ski touring terrain! Depending on snow conditions, we will be in the Terskei range or in the higher Ala Archa valley with peaks just under 4000m.

Difficulty / Technique
Heliskiing / Ski Touring always lies in the participant‘s personal responsibility, while led by the mountain guide. Participants must be able to move safely and independently in different snow conditions and steep terrain. For Ski Touring members should be able to perform kick-turns. The guide is there to provide guidance for the whole group, the possibilities for him to respond to individual needs is limited. It is imperative that participants adhere to the instructions and decisions made by the mountain guide. Regardless, each participant must know their own physical limits, and be able to make a timely decision to turn back.

Physical fitness
A key success factor in ski touring trips is being in good shape. Train in the months before the trip! Several hour climbs with a backpack and around 1000 meters per day should not be a problem for you. You have to carry your own personal equipment on the mountain. We will gladly provide individual advice on how to best prepare yourself mentally and physically for an expedition!

Equipment
Unless specified otherwise in the detailled program you need to bring your own personal ski / skki touring and safety equipment. We will be happy to advise you personally during the selection and purchase of required equipment. With years of expedition experience, we know what has proved its worth and what not.

Health
We recommend that each participant undergoes a medical examination prior to the expedition. Good health is a prerequisite for participation. Particularly important is a visit to the dentist because previously unnoticed dental problems can become quite acute due to the sudden change in pressure conditions in higher altitudes.
