Heli-skiing in the famous Tien Shan mountains. High, adventurous and exotic. Questions?

Heli-skiing in the Tien Shan mountains in Kyrgyzstan holds a lot in store. It is very adventurous, there’s usually lots of powder snow thanks to the humidity of the huge Karakol lake, it demands fit participants since it’s at a higher altitude than most other heli-skiing destinations and we’re flown higher than anywhere else. Heliskiing in Tien Shan is certainly not boring! We’ve compiled this program for the sport free-riders out there. For those ambitious enough to get the most powder snow as humanly possible for their money. Because this is about the best thing in the world, the most fulfilling and invigorating feeling that one can experience and ultimately a meaningful component in all of our lives - it's about skiing.

Difficulty / Technique
Heliskiing / Ski Touring always lies in the participant‘s personal responsibility, while led by the mountain guide. Participants must be able to move safely and independently in different snow conditions and steep terrain. For Ski Touring members should be able to perform kick-turns. The guide is there to provide guidance for the whole group, the possibilities for him to respond to individual needs is limited. It is imperative that participants adhere to the instructions and decisions made by the mountain guide. Regardless, each participant must know their own physical limits, and be able to make a timely decision to turn back.

Physical fitness
A key success factor in ski touring trips is being in good shape. Train in the months before the trip! Several hour climbs with a backpack and around 1000 meters per day should not be a problem for you. You have to carry your own personal equipment on the mountain. We will gladly provide individual advice on how to best prepare yourself mentally and physically for an expedition!

Unless specified otherwise in the detailled program you need to bring your own personal ski / skki touring and safety equipment. We will be happy to advise you personally during the selection and purchase of required equipment. With years of expedition experience, we know what has proved its worth and what not.

We recommend that each participant undergoes a medical examination prior to the expedition. Good health is a prerequisite for participation. Particularly important is a visit to the dentist because previously unnoticed dental problems can become quite acute due to the sudden change in pressure conditions in higher altitudes.
